Epilepsy Peterborough & Area
In 1986 a group of concerned parents of recently diagnosed children decided to raise funds for Epilepsy research. By 1990, a local chapter of Epilepsy Ontario was up and running in Peterborough, an executive director was hired, and in 1991 a new Service Coordinator was hired.
Over the next 40 years hundreds of thousands of dollars were raised to fund education and support services for our hundreds of clients residing in Peterborough, Northumberland & Victoria counties. Counselling, school and workplace presentations as well as one on one personal counselling sessions were given.
As of April 30, 2026 we have come to the end of our journey. Staff have retired, volunteers have gone on to other projects, and the office in the Charlotte Mews is now permanently closed.
