Do you know your legal rights as an individual who has epilepsy? Do you know your child’s rights?

For the 300,000 Canadians (or one in 100) living with epilepsy, the social and legal consequences of the disorder can be far more burdensome and disruptive than the medical condition itself.

Despite the fact that epilepsy is a common neurological disorder (second only to headaches), few people can separate fact from fiction. Misinformation can fuel a culture of fear, which in turn leads to discrimination.

Epilepsy is a recognized disability according to the Ontario Human Rights Code. Know your legal rights.
