Vagus Nerve Stimulation

Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) involves periodic mild stimulation of the vagus nerve in the neck with a surgically implanted device similar to a pacemaker. Recently, VNS was approved for use in Canada as an (adjunctive) therapy for some people with epilepsy.

This procedure is not covered by OHIP in Ontario.
