Summer Students at Epilepsy Ontario

Nishma Manji, a masters student at the University of Western Ontario, is our summer education co-ordinator. She will develop a comprehensive guide to the medical tests used in diagnosing epilepsy.

Jola Omole, also a student at the University of Western Ontario, is our outreach co-ordinator for the summer. She is researching neurotoxins and how they may contribute to seizures.

Martine Cormier is a summer work exchange student from New Brunswick. She will be with us in July and August, assisting in office adminstration.

Karen Chan has returned to develop our multicultural employment outreach project. She will research information about attitudinal barriers faced by persons living with epilepsy in multicultural communities, develop an ongoing relationship with organizations serving these persons in several communities, and provide these organizations with existing EO materials about employment issues for persons living with epilepsy.

Femi Omole is developing a cross-diagnosis employment outreach program, promoting employment services to other organizations serving persons with seizure disorders and AIDS, brain injury, cerebral palsy, fibromyalgia, schizophrenia, stroke, etc.
