Ontario Disability Support ProgramThere are 13 Ontario Disability Support Program offices throughout Ontario. The ODSP has a component called Employment Supports which recognizes that many people with disabilities can and do want to work. To apply, contact a worker at your local Ministry of Community Services and Social services for an application Package.
What type of help is offered?- help in developing an employment plan
- employment preparation and training
- technical aids ranging from mobility devices and reading aids to adapted computers as well as the training to use them
- interpreter, reader, note taker, and intervening services
- travel, route, and orientation training
- job placement support
- job coaching and help with job searches
- on-the-job training
- transportation assistance while you are training for a job
Eligibility for ODSP Income Support
Applicant with a physical or mental impairment which is: - continuous or recurrent
- lasting 1 year or more
- a barrier to employment
- verified by a qualified professional
and who is: - willing and able to prepare for, accept and maintain competitive employment
- a resident of Ontario
- able to work in Canada
- over 16 years of age

- CPP-D
- Employment Insurance
- WCB or WSIB
- Insurance Act Benefit (after 21 June 1990)
- Ministry of Health, Drug and Alcohol Recovery Program

Job Placement
Ontario March of Dimes believes that one of the most powerful tools for adult independence is a job. To that end, they assist their client secure a high quality job by conducting a highly provocative job search. Their clients are also taught job search techniques, including résumé writing, interview skills, researching job opportunities and the closing deal.

Job Finding Club
This program is for those who are currently receiving Employment Insurance or who have been receiving Unemployment Insurance in the past 3-5 years. Clients will find a supportive environment and will be able to take advantage of the emerging opportunities in the 21st Century.

Supported Employment
This program assists people who require additional supports to find and maintain work. It focuses on job interests, motivation to work, and adaptations that integrate the client into the workplace and community. Job coaches are available to help identify job skill, special adaptations and other supports to maintaining a job.

Link Up Employment Services for Persons with DisabilitiesLink Up's mandate is to increase training and employer opportunities for persons with disabilities in Ontario.
Job seekers can come into the service either by self-referral or referral from one of their Employment Network Partners. Potential clients who have not been referred by an Employment Network partner must attend one of the Information/Orientation sessions. In these sessions, clients learn about the available services and what their options are.
Employment Services
Employment services include recruitment, placement, wage subsidies, work placements and job trails.
Take Action Phone Centre
This training program is for those clients who are job ready and interested in honing their job search skills. Job seekers learn how to market themselves to potential employers.
Referrals
Clients who are not eligible for Link Up Employment services are referred to other organizations which can meet their needs.
Client Resource Centre
All clients are welcome to take advantage of the Link Up Client Resource Centre. The centre is fully accessible with two personal computers, two telephones, a fax machine, and access to a printer and photocopier.

Workplace Support Services - Apprenticeship Branch
An apprenticeship is a formal agreement between a person who wants to learn a skilled trade, an employer who needs a skilled worker and the provincial government. These apprenticeship programs, regulated by the provincial Ontario, fall into 4 categories: construction, industrial, motive power, and the service industries.
The Government of Ontario offers its Apprenticeship Program through more than 20 offices throughout the province.
Eligibility- Participants must have an employer in Ontario.
- Participants must be at least 16 years old.
- Most trades require a minimum education of Grade 10.
- Apprenticeships are 90% on-the-job training with 10% in-school component and may last from 2-5 years.
