      Offers assistance in the development of a skilled aboriginal work force through the provision of individual and community based employment and training initiatives.

      Individual Based Programs

      Career Planning
        • Employment Counselling
        • Career & Skills Assessments

        • Résumé & Interview Preparation Skills
        • Information on current jobs
        • Referral to other agencies when needed


      Training Purchase

      Provides skills training for individuals who have gone through a job search and have identified an employment opportunity requiring particular training.

      Group Training Purchase

      Eligibility
        • Unemployed
        • Out of school for 12 consecutive months
        • Training will lead to employment/offer of employment
        • Program must not be eligible for Band Post Secondary funding
        • Demonstrated need for assistance

      Career & Employment Preparation Program
      (CEPP)


      Information & Referral Service

      Individuals can use the on-site resources centres in Dryden, Geraldton, Marathon and other northern communities to research useful information about careers, occupations, labour market trends, training opportunities and job search strategies.


      Employment Planning & Preparation (EPP)

      Through workshops, clients can clarify their employment needs, establish employment goals, and develop action plans. This program is available in Dryden, Geralden, Marathon and northern communities.


      On-the-Job Training (OJT)
      These programs train individuals to develop specific skills relevant to their career goals.


      Eligibility
          Youth
            • 16-24 years of age
            • Resident of Ontario
            • Eligible to work in Ontario

          For EPP
            • Out of school or training for 8 of the previous 16 weeks
            • Unemployed for the previous 32 weeks

          For OJT
            • Out of school or training for any 16 of the previous 32 weeks
            • Unemployed for 16 of the previous 32 weeks

        PUSH Northwest
          • Creates opportunities for people with disabilities in North-Western Ontario through job search and job skills training.
          • Staff assists clients in discovering personal goals and occupational interests.
          • Offers training for job search, interviews, applications, resumes and telephone skills.
