New Advocacy Clinic

People living with seizures and their caregivers need every opportunity to avail themselves of helpful community resources. There are effective ways to go about accessing materials, resources and information which will benefit people affected by epilepsy directly.

Epilepsy Ontario is pleased to announce a new project called The Advocacy Clinic, providing an opportunity for adults, youths, parents, caregivers and school personnel to ask questions, get information and review specific advocacy challenges and empowerment issues regarding living with epilepsy.
The Advocacy Clinic will be run from EO's offices by the staff of Parent's Advocacy in the School, including Dr. Maxine Endman (specialist in developmental psychology and psycho-ed testing), Mr. David Baker (lawyer), and Dr. Norm Forman (registered psychologist and administrator). It will be open to members of Chapters and Contacts of Epilepsy Ontario. Chapter counsellors or Executive Directors are invited to attend with their clients.

Epilepsy Ontario will pay for professional fees during this pilot project for a 6-month period. Designated donations towards this project will be accepted. Epilepsy Ontario is seeking sponsorship to offer this Advocacy Clinic as a long-term outreach program for chapters on a regional basis.

Appointments will be scheduled once a month, alternating between mornings (9 am to 12 noon) and evenings (6 pm to 9 pm). Appointments must be booked in advance. For more information, contact your local epilepsy chapter or Epilepsy Ontario.
