Charity Fine Art Sale

The 1999 annual fine art sale ended with sighs of relief and squeals of excitement from the volunteers. The unavailability of our regular selling space in the Promenade Mall (Thornhill) seemed to foreshadow an unsuccessful season for the art sale. Fortunately, thanks to our devoted volunteers and the parties involved in donating the vast majority of our varied art collection this year, we sold approximately 100 pieces of art and we exceeded our sales goal of $10,000!
From 16 November to 20 December 1999, we sold originals, lithographs and signed numbered prints from famous artists such as: Dali, Matisse, Dubi Arie, Marosan, Serge, Soldentakov, Snake, Dobry, Roybal, plus many others. Many of our buyers found our framed and unframed art suitable for gift giving. The bulk of our success was generated from word-of-mouth advertising from previous patrons and art lovers.

With a net revenue close to $11,000, Epilepsy Ontario will be able to send at least 20 children living with epilepsy to our Spike & Wave Camp. This fun-filled 1- or 2-week experience has immense meaning for the children and is greatly anticipated by them.

We thank the following volunteers for devoting their time and energy to this event:
